Hello! I’m Jes (it’s a pen name), and this is my blog. I’m a young Christian writer trying to get my stories out there for feedback and experience. I write fantasy and adventure.
Things I love include: dragons, magic, forests, conlangs (constructed languages), elves, mushrooms, moss, cottagecore, and cats. I usually participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Some of my favourite books and authors are The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, the Fairyland series by Catherynne M. Valente, the Earthsea trilogy by Ursula Le Guin, and The Obernewtyn Chronicles by Isobelle Carmody.
About my stories
I tend to write fantasy-adventure. Almost all of my stories have at least one dragon and an assortment of other mythical creatures. I’m also good at making up languages, and almost every story has at least one so far. Some things I’m working on are characterisation, creating unique voices, and dialogue-description ratio (although I also need to work on editing and patching plot holes).
